The word concentration is not often associated with co-dependency, but I think it should be. Concentration is having the self-discipline to force yourself to concentrate on you. Co-dependents must be open to concentrating single-mindedly on one thing – themselves. It means you are making a commitment to yourself to do something every day that will allow you to become calmer and happier. Concentration also means persevering! When you live with someone who is active in their addiction it should be totally about self-preservation for you, the co-dependent.
