The #1 question most co-dependents have on their minds

What is the number one question that most co-dependents ask of the professional? By far, the most-often-asked question is, “How do I get him/her to stop using/drinking? I have tried everything – and it just seems to get worse no matter what I do”! And yes, it will continue to get worse despite your best efforts. Because addiction is a progressive disease, it will always get worse before it gets better!

And now, what is the number one question that most professionals ask of the co-dependent?

The first question asked is, of course, “Who do you have control over”?  The answer to that suggests that no matter what you do, how hard you beg or cajole, the alcoholic/addict is always in control of his/her use and will continue with drinking/using until all their options for using and drinking more have been eliminated or exhausted.
